TRF Cricket Event 2010

This year’s TRF Cricket Event was held on June 27th at The Old Cholmeleians Club in Mill Hill. The sun was out in full fervour, perfect for our day of cricket for the 150+ who people attended this event.

The day started with the boys’ match, a pairs competition, and the winners were Siddharth Saraogi & Yasser Soleja. The budding cricketers had another treat in store for them; they were given a coaching session by Abhishek Jhunjhunwala of the Rajasthan Royals cricket team. This was followed by the men’s match, where they were divided into three teams, playing in a round robin format. Congratulations to Rakesh Kucheria’s team who were runaway winners.

Thanks to Nim Choraria for providing us with a huge TV, we were able to screen the much anticipated World Cup football match between England and Germany. Spirits & passions were very high throughout, particularly when the England goal was disallowed.
In addition to the cricket matches, there were other fun activities put on to entertain the non-players and players alike – there was an art stall, run by Pankhuri, for all the little “Van Goghs” to create their own masterpieces; we held a raffle draw, with many exciting prizes, put together by Payal and Abhilasha; we had a game of Bingo (well done to Dipika for shouting over the noise of the football fans and vuvuzelas!); and sumptuous food laid on by Gupta caterers.
All in all, another great day out with family and friends.
