The Rajasthani Foundation friends and members have worked tirelessly towards developing and participating in sustainable charitable programmes. Our efforts so far allowed us to progress our commitment to the Viklang Kalyan Kendra, meeting the immediate needs of this institute, supplying fans, beds, storage cupboards, doors and windows to make the classrooms and hostels comfortable, safe and secure.

We created a technical team for re-designing and developing sanitation facilities at Mahila Mandal Sanstha. The team was supported by a local engineering college specialist in renewable energy to construct a “biogas” plant to meet energy requirements of the institute.  Discussions with the local municipal council to obtain planning permissions for proposed works are in progress.

Our most significant participation has been with the Centre for Integrated Rural Development (CIRD).   We started, by not just improving the classrooms of an existing “Shramik Bal Vidyalaya”, but also by providing students with uniforms, shoes, study and games material.

We wanted to develop our own Shramik Vidyalaya with CIRD but our learning revealed that an integrated approach is imperative to address development across the broader community.

Our current plan is to conduct a child education program, a vocational training programme for all interested members of the community and an adult education programme on a daily basis at a chosen facility. The adult education programme will be designed to not just teach reading and writing but also run health education, agriculture education and other relevant programmes.

The Future

The Rajasthani Foundation has therefore progressed towards building its own charity aimed not only at the education of children but also encompassing their entire socio-economic well being. We intend to make children's education the focal point of impacting under privileged families as a whole.

This can be achieved by mothers coming to leave the children at school and thereby receiving periodic free medical tests and basic health amenities such as milk for the children and also a stipend for sending their children to school. This could be followed by medical test for the fathers as well. Receipt of amenities and facilities is therefore dependent upon compulsory child attendance.

From the point of education, further developing the programme into vocational training for the children will enable them to gain employment in due course.

Through the above program we will strive to achieve a total transformation of families and subsequently entire communities. The program is scalable and can be rolled out across various communities, as and when, we gather additional experience and are able to raise additional funds.

All of these developments have come from our “hands on” approach which showed us that despite addressing the “future” by way of educating children, there is an overwhelming need to enable self-sufficiency through “vocational training” for the present and convert “doubters” into “believers” by educating the adults in the community.

With your generous support and belief, the TRF Charity journey continues.
